DEFIANCE, OHIO - Marvin Luis Guillermo Cruz, age 32, of Defiance, died on Friday, July 17, 2026. Marvin was born on September 5, 1993, in Chicago, Illinois to Milagros Rodriguez & the late Marvin Cruz Sr. Marvin was a 2013 graduate of Defiance High School. Marvin was a stay-at-home dad.

Marvin’s friends and family will remember him most for his laugh, his everlasting love for Benjamin, his walk, and his security.

Marvin is survived by his son, Benjamin Cruz; his mother Milagros Rodriguez (Orlando Perez); grandparents, Virginia (Heriberto) Rodriguez and Benjamin Rodriguez Sr; sisters, Jasmine (Kaleb) Guelde, Jessica Perez; brothers, Nicolas Rodriguez, Jacob Perez, and Orlando Perez Jr.; nieces, Alexis Partee, Kenzieanna Willmarth, Anais Davila, Octavia Perez, and Amaia Guelde; nephews, Trey Partee, Brayden Perez, Dreyden Perez, Jaiden Urbina, Kingston Rodriguez, Kaleb (Butters) Guelde, and Amari Rodriguez.

In addition to his father, Marvin is proceeded in death by his uncles, Benjamin Rodriguez Jr and Luis Cruz Jr; grandfather, Luis Cruz Sr; grandmother, Maria Cruz, and friend, Lovell (Apple) Jones Jr.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 24, 2026, between 9:00 – 11:30 AM at Hebron Ministries, 1123 Ayersville Avenue, Defiance, OH 43512. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM at the church with Pastor Vince Cantu officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Defiance, OH.
