1989 - 2026

In 2024, he suffered a spinal cord stroke that caused paralysis from the waist down, that later led to many other health complications. Throughout his health journey, Nik kept deep rooted in his faith and trusting in God's promises. His unwavering determination and courage never faded. He was born on May 4, 1989, in Bryan, OH, to his mother, Angela (Ysasaga) Rodriguez, and father, the late Alfred “Chuy” Montez. Nik attending school in Bryan and later Ayersville. Nik and his beloved wife, Emily, were married on July 24, 2021, after many years of growing together in love. They joyfully celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary this past July. Throughout their years together, they raised eight wonderful children and later they were blessed with a granddaughter. They created a family filled with warmth, laughter, and devotion.

Nik worked in construction for many years. He never missed the chance to point out a home he worked on to his wife and children. Nik was baptized and had his first communion at St. John's Catholic Church. He, along with his family later became members of Xperience Church. Nik cherished every moment spent with his family, especially attending his children’s sporting events, where he was always their biggest supporter.

PawPaw became his favorite title. His granddaughter could do no wrong in his eyes. He found joy in simple pleasures—shooting, bonfires, cookouts, music, traveling, and spontaneous adventures. And anyone who knew Nik knew he was never without his signature sunglasses. A proud fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Ohio State football, Nik never missed a game.
