BROOKLYN, MI – Walter Elmer Pelton, age 88, of Brooklyn, MI, died peacefully with family by his side on September 8, 2025. He was born on July 3, 1937, in Delta, OH, to the late Walter Allen and Florence Rosetta (Kessler) Pelton. Walter was a 1955 graduate of Delta High School and in 1958 was inducted into the U.S. Army, serving two years active duty. On February 9, 1996, he married his lifelong sweetheart, Lorane Jones, and the two began doing life together fishing, dancing, traveling, and visiting garage sales. Walter retired from GM Hydra-Matic Division after 32 years of service as an inspector. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, along with nieces and nephews. Walter will be most remembered for his gentle fun-loving, adventuresome, mentoring spirit.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Lorane Pelton; children, Tim Porter and Jill Porter-Rubin; siblings, Henry (June) Pelton, Florance Ann Snyder, Paul (Judy) Pelton, and grandchildren, Madison and Ronin.

Visitation will be Friday, September 12, 2025, from 11:00AM-12:00PM at Hope Church of Delta, 101 Northwood Dr, Delta, OH 43515. A funeral service will follow at 12:00PM at the church, with Pastor Ted Blohm and Pastor Kent Winkler officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Delta, OH.
