BELLBROOK, OHIO - Jane Louise Dixon, age 89, of Bellbrook, passed away peacefully in the early morning of July 20, 2026. She went home to be with the Lord and her beloved Jake. Jane was born on January 25, 1937, to Allen and Loretta Weaver. She grew up in Dayton, Ohio, with her sisters, Joanne and Wilma, brother William, and half-sister, Joyce. Jane graduated from Kiser High School in 1955. While in school, she played violin and participated in the Junior Philharmonic. When she was seventeen, Jane met the love of her life, Jake Dixon, at a skating rink before he shipped out to serve in the Korean War. They later married on July 13, 1957, in Xenia, Ohio.

If you were to ask Jane, she would say her biggest accomplishment in life was her family. Jane and Jake were blessed with three sons — William, Kenneth, and David. The couple purchased a three-acre home in Bellbrook, Ohio, where they raised their boys alongside essentially a zoo of dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, and even a pony. Their family of five was always planning their next adventure—from road trips to Myrtle Beach and the Smoky Mountains, to watching the Jackson Five at the Ohio State Fair, and driving more than five hours to Chicago to take part in the ticker-tape parade after the 1969 Moon Landing. Their beloved Bellbrook house remains in the Dixon family and serves as home to grandson Ryan, his wife Mary, and their three children.

Faith was incredibly important to Jane, and she was very involved in the church over the years. Jake and Jane were the youth group leaders at Salem Avenue First Church of God, which, coincidentally, is where their famous “Dippy Dozen” group of friends first formed. What started as a group of six couples who enjoyed spending time together grew into a lifelong friendship, strengthened by annual houseboat trips and other fun excursions.

Jane was musically inclined and served as the music leader at Ledbetter Church of God and East Park Church of God. Both she and Jake sang in the church choir and even performed several solo numbers. She also participated in multiple musicals at the Town Hall Theatre in Centerville, Ohio. Extremely well-traveled, Jane and Jake were always looking forward to their next grand adventure across the world together. Notable trips included Hawaii, Alaska, Russia, China, and throughout Europe. Jane also loved her job as a customer service representative for Sears Contract Sales and retired from there.

Sadly, Jake unexpectedly passed away on September 13, 2003, at 68 years old. Losing Jake was incredibly difficult for Jane, and she leaned on her children and grandchildren for support. In her later years, Jane moved in with her son Bill and wife Ruth and spent more than 15 years living with them in their Bellbrook home.

A little more than a year ago, Jane transitioned to assisted living care at The Ashford of Beavercreek, where she enjoyed attending weekly happy hours, getting her nails done, and satisfying her sweet tooth with as many treats as she could get her hands on.

Jane is survived by her sisters, Wilma (Norm) Rich and Joanne Edmisten; 3 sons, William (Ruth) Dixon, Kenneth (Sally) Dixon, and David Dixon (Beth Rogers); 9 grandchildren, Ryan (Mary), Sean (Liz), Cari (Dan), Jonathan (Grace), Jordan (Bailey), Kristy (Cheo), Corey, Chloe, and Phoebe; and 10
great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jane is preceded in death by her brother, William; half-sister, Joyce; and great-grandchildren, Roselyn and Tyler.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Ledbetter Road Church of God, 325 Ledbetter Road, Xenia OH 45385. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM at the church with Pastor Mike Parks officiating. Burial will take place at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia, OH.

Flowers may be delivered to the church on Monday between 9:00 – 11:00 AM. Memorial donations may be made to the church in Jane’s honor. Donation envelopes will be provided at the church.
