In loving memory of

Elizabeth Yost-Iiames

1940 - 2025

Elizabeth Ann Yost-Iiames
June 6, 1940- October 7, 2025

Elizabeth (Beth) (Beamer) Yost-Iiames, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. She spent most of her life in North Canton, Ohio, but enjoyed her last several years in western Ohio area. She is survived by her husband, Warren (Bill) Iiames.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C. Lisle and Grace Ann Beamer. She is survived by her sister, Cynthia Stevens, her children, Cindy (Yost) and John Amburgy of Mount Blanchard, OH, Greg and Carol (Jones) Yost of Benton, LA, and Cathy (Yost) and Tony Miner of Van Buren, IN. She has eleven grandchildren, John, Scott, and Brian Mohr, Parish and Baylor Yost, Rachel (Miner) Wilkins, Rebekah, Elizabeth, Matthew, Anna, and Levi Miner, and nine great grandchildren.

Beth graduated from Hoover High school in 1957. She graduated from Heidelberg College in 1961 where she was a member of the Euglosian Society. Learning and teaching were always a huge part of her life.

Beth was involved for many years at Zion United Church of Christ in North Canton where she was a youth group leader. She was a Girl Scout troop leader where she loved sharing her skills of knitting, crocheting, cooking, and baking. She worked for the North Canton City schools as a special education teacher and tutor. She spent decades investing in the lives of many children. After years of teaching, she worked as an executive secretary at the Hoover Company until it closed.

Most of all, she loved being a mother and grandmother and spending time with her family. She attended as many events of her children and grandchildren as possible. She loved cheering them on in whatever they choose to do. She encouraged them in their sporting events, drama, and musical pursuits, because she loved those things as well. She enjoyed playing tennis and singing, even competitively, with Sweet Adelines.

In her later years, she loved traveling, playing bridge or euchre, and spending extended time visiting her family.

A service will be held at Mount Blanchard United Methodist Church in Mount Blanchard, Ohio on Saturday November, 8, 2025. There will be visitation from 10:00-11:00 with a Celebration of Life service immediately following. Her final resting place will be in Navarre, Ohio with previous generations of her family. Memorials can be made to The American Heart Association or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
