Willard Edward Reamer
1945 - 2025
NORWALK, OH - Willard “Willie” Reamer, age 79, went home to heaven on March 1, 2025. Born on September 4, 1945, in Butler, PA, Willie lived a life dedicated to family, faith and craftsmanship.
A graduate of Norwalk High School Class of 1963, Willie went on to become a journeyman carpenter. His skills and dedication led him to a fulfilling career at Wade Park VA Hospital in Cleveland, where he worked until his retirement in 2010. Beyond his professional life, Willie proudly served in the U.S. Army as a surgical technician.
His faith played a central role in his life as well; he was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, in addition to helping with many projects at the church and at Camp Patmos on Kellys Island. Willie had a passion for woodworking, trains, including model trains. His love for woodworking was evident in the projects he created and shared with those around him.
Willie is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Janice; children, Sarah and Mike (Jenicka) and cherished grandchildren, Paige, Addison, Hayden, Emerson, Harper, Tucker, and Fletcher. He is also survived by his siblings, Grace West, Janet Hetrick, Linda (Dave) Ferguson, Sue Hestermann, and Sam (Maryanne) Reamer; brothers in law, Tom (Betty) Alexander, Henry (Jean) Alexander, Chuck Perry, Dwight (Carol) Alexander and Dan (Ranae) Alexander; numerous nieces and nephews; other significant members of the family, Linda Perry, Robert Kurtycz, and Griffin Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Anna (Wise) Reamer; brother and sister-in-law, George L. and Anita Reamer; brother in laws, Arndt Hestermann, John Hetrick; sister-in-law, Brenda Perry; nephews, Johnny and Chris Hetrick, Jason Alexander and nieces, Rachel Hetrick and Cheri (Reamer) McGinn.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a viewing on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church located at 250 Benedict Ave., Norwalk, OH. A service will follow at 12:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Andy Johnston and Pastor Joe Grof. The family suggests, rather than flowers, to donate to Calvary Baptist Church for a coffee station in Willie’s honor.
