RICHMOND HEIGHTS, OH - McDonald “Mac” Conyers, age 87, died peacefully on September 3, 2025. He was born on August 6, 1938, to William and Beatrice (Marzette) Conyers in Harlem, New York, where he attended grade school. He obtained his high school diploma in Englewood, New Jersey, after his family relocated to the area. In September of 1955, Mac enlisted in the United States Air Force. After his service he moved to Ohio, where he received his associates degree from Dyke College and electrician’s certification. Mac retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service. After retirement he worked for 15 years for Walmart.

Later in life Mac went on to become an ordained Deacon and received a certificate upon completing all requirements for the Mission & Evangelism Series at the Baptist Bible Institute of Cleveland.

In 1991, Mac met Edlene on a blind date where they became friends, which led to 34 wonderful years of marriage. Mac was a devoted father to Angie, Ann Marie, Dwayne Jr. “DJ”, as well as Dwayne Sr., Kevin, Terrie, and Eric. Mac and Edlene were also dedicated foster parents for many years.

Mac was a man of God and the patriarch of his family. He was a huge sports fan that could talk sports for hours. He was known for his ability to fix anything. Mac was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, foster dad, and friend who will be remembered for his selflessness, kind spirit, never ending love, and dedication to family.

Preceding him in death are his parents, William and Beatrice; sisters, Ernestine and Yolanda; brother, Levi; daughter, Terrie; great grandson, Israel; sisters-in-law, Norretta, Willabell, and Renee, and brothers-in-law, Marvin, Ronald, and Richard.

Mac leaves to mourn his beloved wife Edlene; daughters, Angie (Karlie) and Ann Marie (Shawndale); sons, Dwayne Jr., Dwayne Sr. (Sharron), Kevin (Milisa), and Eric (Eileen); brother, Edmund; sisters-in-law, Faith and Rosita (Frank); grandchildren, Melinda, Olivia, Shawn Patrick, Nicki, James, Bryant, Ian-Kenya, Lawrence (Cherron), Kevin-Norris, Dwayne Jr. Leah, Jhalon, Jayson, Rusty, Jackie (James), Demetrius (Ashley), Terry, Eric, Brittany (Rob), and Jordan, as well as Damon (Tiffany) and Christian, and their mother, Awilda.

Mac is also survived by his great grandchildren, Vivian, Zachary, Mia, Alex, Xavier, Zariah, Zoë, Giavanna, Uriel, Aaliyah, Gabriel, Cheyenne, Jasmine, Ethan, Shamara, Tony, Zion, Honest, Honesty, Sincere, Neavah, Anyaa, Isabella, Jaylona, Gianna, Tayla, Tayden, James Jr., Jaysen, Morgan, Taylor, Harper, Reagan, Devin, Tyler, Tre, and Bryson, as well as great great grandchildren, Zyomara, Za’layah, TyShawn, Treu, and Naomi and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Friends Church of Willoughby Hills, 2846 SOM Ctr. Road, Willoughby Hills, OH 44094. Family will receive friends beginning at 10:00AM. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Thursday between 9:00-10:00AM.
