In loving memory of

Gregory Kent Skolfield

1959 - 2026

Gregory Kent Skolfield, 66, of Tipp City, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 12, 2026. He was born November 2, 1959, in St. Petersburg, Florida to the late David and Edna Skolfield.

Greg graduated from Temple Christian High School in Wilmington, Delaware in 1978. While in high school he heard the Cathedral Quartet and became an avid fan of southern gospel quartet music. He went on to Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where he met the love of his life, Twila Shaver. The couple married in 1981, and Greg graduated in 1984 with a B.A. in Biblical Studies.

At the age of 8, Greg accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and desired to live for Him. In later years, he ministered as Youth Pastor, Awana Director, Elder, led congregational music, and taught Sunday School. For a few years, he travelled with the Gem City Quartet, sharing his love of God through music.

Greg spent many years in Manufacturing Management and finished his career as a Regional Semi Driver for Crete Carriers. He enjoyed his job and the opportunity to mentor numerous trainees with Paper Transport Inc.

He was also a member of Grace Baptist Church in Troy. Throughout his battle with cancer, Greg let others know of God’s goodness and faithfulness. He would mention he wanted to “Praise my Savior all the day long.”

Greg loved and enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed ball games, golf, boat trips and camping.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Twila; his 3 children, Daniel (Lauren) Skolfield of Odessa Texas, Angela (Don) Lawrence of Noblesville, Indiana and James Skolfield; grandchildren, Emma, Lylah and Jonah Alford, Conner and Carter Skolfield, Aubriella, Jessica, Rebecca and Benjamin Lawrence, and Tucker Neal; and siblings, Onalee, Dave, Bruce, Karen and spouses.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 10:00-11:00 am with a funeral service following at 11:00 am at Grace Baptist Church, 1400 N. Market Street, Troy, Ohio.
