Betty Walls
1921 - 2024
UNION, OH - Betty Jane Walls, age 103, of Union, Ohio, went to her “heavenly home” on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 6:26 p.m. Betty was born on August 30, 1921, to Robert and Lillian Frazier of Hamilton, Ohio. After Betty graduated from Ross High School, she moved to Dayton, Ohio where she was employed at Inland Manufacturing.
She married Willard E. Walls in 1946 and resided in Dayton, Ohio where she went on to have two children, Jane L. Walls and William “Bud” L. Walls. The family later moved to West Alexandria, Ohio in 1959 where Betty raised her children before moving to Rockwood, Tennessee in 1965. In 1997, after her husband passed away, Betty moved to Ohio where she resided in Union until 2024. Betty was an active member of First Light Church in Vandalia and loved attending “Classics”. Betty loved to travel, crochet, read, solve puzzles, play board games, and spend time with her family and many friends.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lillian Frazier; sister, Evelyn Himmelhaver; brother, William Frazier; husband, Willard Ershel, and grandson, James Richard.
She is survived by her children, Jane Grubbs of Union, Ohio and William (Sandy) Walls of Convoy, Ohio; grandchildren, Michael Grubbs, Jeffrey (Mandy) Grubbs, Bill (Kim) Walls, John (Angel) Walls, and great grandchildren, Lauren, Nolan, Evan, Jacob, Leah, Aiden, Cason, Ainsley, Jude, and Nayela.
Her visitation will be held at First Light Church, 140 Elva Court, Vandalia, Ohio 45377 on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastors Bud Walls, David Starry, John Seagraves, and Jeff Grubbs officiating. Her interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, 643 OH-503 in West Alexandria, Ohio 45381 directly following the service.
The family requests that instead of sending flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to the church in honor of Betty.
