In loving memory of

Louisa Keyner

1934 - 2025

MIAMISBURG, OH – Louisa Maria Theresa Keyner, age 90, Heaven gained an angel on April 26, 2025, as Louisa Keyner passed away peacefully, surrounded by love.

Born on November 2, 1934, and raised in Vlaardingen, Netherlands, Louisa met the love of her life, Eric, at a dance where he caught her eye dressed in his Dutch army uniform. After marrying, they immigrated to the United States to begin a new chapter together. They settled in Lima, Ohio, where they raised their family and built a life grounded in love, hard work, and resilience.

Louisa was a devoted wife, mother to four children, and a proud grandmother to many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known for her strong work ethic, working for many years as a waitress and hostess at the Holiday Inn and the Elks Club, where she formed many cherished friendships. She had a deep love of travel and always found an excuse to go on her next adventure—even if it meant stopping to shop along the way. A true Dutchwoman, she adored gardening and had a special fondness for tulips. Her passion for flowers reflected the vibrancy she brought into the lives of those around her. Music filled Louisa’s home—whether it was the smooth tones of Jim Reeves or Rod Stewart, she delighted in a variety of artists. She loved collecting Hummels and books and was an enthusiastic reader. More than anything, Louisa treasured her family. Her children and grandchildren were her “lievertjes,” her sweethearts, and the joy of her life. She was deeply loved for her wit, humor, and the ability to bring laughter into any room.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Eric R. Keyner; children, Raymond E. (Barbara) Keijner of Louisville, KY, Eveline L. (Bruce) Warren of Kettering, OH, Jacqueline M. Danser of Salem, IN, and Roland P. (Hilda) Keyner of Germantown, OH; grandchildren, Jessika, Derek, Whitley, Taylor, Erica, Stacey, and Cole, as well as 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Edmond and Maria de Rond (Odÿk), Louisa is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Stephanie Benjamin, and son-in-law, Rocky Danser.

Proud of her Dutch heritage, Louisa embraced her roots fully. In honor of her memory, we invite all who attend the service honoring her life to wear something orange—the national color of the Netherlands—which she would have loved.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 PM on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Fairhaven Church, 637 E Whipp Rd, Centerville, OH 45459. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM officiated by her grandson, Pastor Taylor Warren. Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Gethsemani Cemetery, 2001 Spencerville Rd, Lima, OH 45805.

We rejoice in knowing that Louisa is now with Jesus, whom she loved and trusted as her Savior. Her life was a gift to us all, and she will be missed dearly. For additional information and to view Louisa’s online obituary, please visit www.churchfuneralsdirect.com.
