In loving memory of
Anita S. Evanhoe
1957 - 2025
DAYTON, OHIO - Anita Sue (Wingfield) Evanhoe, age 67, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 6. She was born August 29th, 1957, in Lawrence, Kansas, to Bill and Georgia (Spencer) Wingfield. Anita attended Shawnee Heights High School in Tecumseh, Kansas. After graduating, she worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
Anita enjoyed various hobbies during her life. After high school, she enjoyed playing softball for several years. As many know, Anita loved to host parties for any and every reason. She would find any excuse to have her friends and family over. This coincided with her love of cooking and baking, which she learned at a young age. She was often found in the kitchen, experimenting and tweaking her recipes.
Anita met Chuck in 1983 while visiting her roommate, who worked with Chuck. The two were married May 5th, 1984, in Topeka, Kansas. They were blessed with four children: Matthew (Amy) Evanhoe, Joni Wardall, Jessie (Nick) Pfeiffer, and Michael Evanhoe. She has 5 grandchildren: Zoë and Lydia Wardall, Benjiro and Sylvia Evanhoe, and Ophelia Pfeiffer. She is preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Sylvia.
While sad to leave her family and friends behind, Anita was excited to be going to be with her Lord.
The viewing will be at Veritas Community Church, 500 Hickory St., Dayton, OH 45410, on Friday, August 8th, from 6 PM to 8 PM. The funeral service will be on Saturday, August 9th, at 3 PM at Veritas.
In Anita’s honor, donations can be made to Emmanuel Orphanage (in Mexico), Victory Project Dayton, or Church Planting International. Donation envelopes will be available at the church. The family would prefer memorial donations, but if you do wish to give flowers, have them delivered to the church by Friday, August 8 between 4-6 PM.
