TIPP CITY, OHIO - David Jason Geiger, age 53, was born on November 22, 1972, in Dallas, Texas. From childhood he had a tender heart and love for others. At a young age, he understood his own sin and recognized his need for a Savior and trusted Jesus Christ for eternal life. He attended Dayton Christian Schools, where he played baseball during high school. He went on to earn a Mechanical Engineering degree from Cedarville College and eventually earned a Master of Business Administration degree.

Over the years he worked at Delphi, Honeywell, and eventually landed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base where he supported the Intelligence Community. As an Air Force Civilian, he faithfully served his country overseas in the Middle East, at sea on a Naval vessel, and expansively at WPAFB. He was deeply loved by his Air Force and Intelligence family.

He consistently volunteered, loved, and served in many capacities throughout his life. In his high school and college days, he served on foreign mission trips to impoverished countries. He served with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and his little brother Ryan, became part of the family and is loved to this day. David was the chairman for the Troy Strawberry Festival in 2011 and served on the board of Habitat for Humanity, including out-of-state builds. For years, he volunteered at Dayton Children’s hospital where he nurtured and loved medically fragile children and snuggled NICU babies.

David also loved serving at the Dayton Gospel Mission and was like family to the staff. He was a foster care parent with Isaiah’s Place and provided respite care for many children and teens that needed a safe home and loving care. His patience and genuine care made him well loved with all the children for whom he cared. He was the president of Miami County Right to Life and cared so deeply about fighting for the voiceless and providing for the practical needs of babies. He was honored to serve on the board of Two Stars Over India supporting missions and orphans in South Asia.

For many years he has been a catcher for the Dayton Ducks adult baseball team. He also played for Steve’s Sports and the Springfield Angels. His Dayton Ducks team won 5 championships, and Steve’s Sports won 3 League Championships and a World Series Championship. His baseball teams were family to him, and he loved his time on the diamond.
David leaves behind an enormous hole in the Geiger family. He was a faithful son, devoted brother, incredibly giving and loving uncle, and cherished nephew. He was an incomparable friend, co-worker, and teammate.

He leaves behind loving parents, Rodney and Durinda (Mogle) Geiger; dearly loved brother, Jonathan (Cindi) Geiger; sisters, Amy Johnson, Bethany (Stuart) Thompson and Ruthie (Bryan) Robles; honorary brother, Greg Quinn; and adored nieces and nephews, Ava, Gabriel, Hudson, Josiah David Geiger, Evalae, Ellia Johnson, Luke, Sadie, Grayson, Cole, Sophie, and Isabel Robles; beloved aunt, Becky (Randy) Cornman; uncle, Dan (Diane) Mogle; many cousins and numerous lifetime friends for whom he deeply loved and cared for.

David managed to fit more life, love, and service into 53 years than most do in a lifetime. In the end, his life was marked and transformed by Jesus Christ. May we all follow his example by loving Jesus and loving people through charity, selflessness, and joy.

The family will host a memorial service on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Refuge Hill Church, 5200 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, OH 45429, with Pastor Chad Osborne officiating. Instead of flowers, the family kindly request donations be made to the following organizations in David's honor:
