James Orlen Warner
1935 - 2020
ENGLEWOOD, OH – James “Jim” Orlen Warner, age 85, of Englewood, OH, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Monday, November 23, 2020.
Jim was born on July 22, 1935 in Dayton, OH to the late Stanley and Gladys Warner (Nicely). Jim was a United States Army Veteran and worked in the tool crib for General Motors, retiring in 1988 after 30 years of service. He also volunteered for the Preble County Jail Ministry for 20 years and was a lifetime member of Community Christian Church. Jim had a strong faith in God and was known for being a generous person. He also was a knife maker and enjoyed fishing.
Jim is survived by his children, Candy (John) Sebring, Robin Warner, Jimmy Warner, Diane (Lloyd) Box, Christina (Christopher) Thomas, and Rose (Don) Dunn; companion, Rebecca Browning and family, as well as numerous grandchildren and other family members.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Warner and daughter, Darlene Hammond.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2020 at Community Christian Church, 11 Dorsey Akers Dr., West Alexandria, OH 45381. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., also at the church, with Pastor Don Dunn officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria, OH. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Monday from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the church or State of the Heart Hospice, Greenville, OH.
Due to COVID-19, face masks will be worn and social distancing will be observed at the church.
