In loving memory of

Lydia Ann Taylor

1954 - 2025

EATON, OH – Lydia Ann Taylor, age 70, of Eaton, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at her home. She was born on November 28, 1954, in Middletown, Ohio, to the late Robert and Mary (Lyons) Taylor. In addition to her parents, Lydia was preceded in death by her sister, Terrie Gardner and her great nephew, Toby Gardner.

Lydia is survived by her daughter, Stefani Taylor of Eaton; her brother, George “Bill” Taylor; her nephew, Tim (Marti) Gardner; her nieces, Emily Lane and Liz Johnson; her “other daughter,” Meghan Saylor; her great nephews, Justin Lane, Joey Lane, Kyle Lane, Chris Lane, Alex (Lauren Rushing) Gardner, Austin Stringfield, Andrew Stringfield, Cody (Holly) Gardner, and Tanner (Rayven) Gardner, and countless great-great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lydia attended church at Northside Chapel First Church of God in Camden, Ohio for many years where she served the Lord in many ways. She sang in the choir, held several positions there over the years including secretary, treasurer, and board member. She was also highly involved in the women’s group and helped prepare countless funeral dinners, worked bake sales and booths at the Black Walnut Festival.

After leaving Northside Chapel, she attended Community Christian Church in West Alexandria, Ohio for 10 years. She had decided to do less serving during her time, and felt it was time to do less cooking and do more learning and Bible study. Her favorite things about CCC were listening to the Praise Team lead worship, Sunday School classes or any type of Bible study. At both churches, she was always willing to volunteer to testify or lead others in prayer. She once said, “If Jesus was willing to die on the cross for me, I should be willing to testify and pray out loud in front of others.”

In her time at home, she enjoyed watching her “soaps,” The Young & the Restless and the Bold and the Beautiful, and Bible studies and sermons by Pastor Jack Hibbs on Youtube. She had a love/hate relationship with her daughter’s two Australian Cattle Dogs, Willy and Mango. She hated the dog hair, barking, and the mess, but she would spend hours on the back porch playing fetch with them when the weather was nice and couldn’t help but love on them any chance she got.

She was often described by others as a character, one-of-a-kind, a hoot, hilarious, a trouble-maker, and those who didn’t know her well would even say she was “sweet.” She never understood how loved she was by everyone who knew her, and she will be greatly missed by those of us she leaves behind.

Private services will be held at the convenience of her family. For additional information and to view Lydia’s online obituary and memorial tribute, please visit www.churchfuneralsdirect.com.
