Edna Muckley
1932 - 2025
HARTVILLE, OH - Edna H. Muckley, age 93, of Hartville, Ohio, known and loved by many as “Grandmother Muckley” passed away on September 24, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 10, 1932, in White Mills, Kentucky to the late, Elza Reed Young and Mary Corene (Young) Clemens. She moved to Canton, Ohio in 1943, and was a graduate of Middlebranch High School in 1950. She worked as a draftsman for several different local companies over the years.
Edna accepted the Lord as her personal Lord and Savior as a teenager at the Canton Gospel Center. She was united in marriage to Donald Ray Muckley on October 6, 1951, by Reverend Harland J. O’Dell. Edna was a Charter Member of Grace Baptist Church since 1967, where she served in many capacities. She was a Sunday School teacher for 58 years and enjoyed sharing the love of Jesus Christ with boys and girls. Edna was also active in the choir, as a soloist, as an AWANA teacher, and in the Canton Area Women’s Missionary Fellowship.
Edna is survived by her sons, Donald (Shirley) of Canton Ohio, Steven (Jolene) of Edmonds Washington, and Edward (Billie Jo) of Hartville Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Martha Ellen Curtis and Alma Hartman; brother-in-law, Kenneth Muckley, and sister-in-law, Margie Truex.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Muckley; sister, Blanche Muckley; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Muckley, and grandson, Kevin Muckley.
Visitation will be held on September 30, 2025, from 5:00-8:00PM at Grace Baptist Church, 5050 Middlebranch Ave. NE, Canton, Ohio and on October 1, 2025, from 10:00-11:00AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00AM at the church, with Reverend David Ryan officiating. Instead of sending flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to Grace Baptist Church Missionary Fund or the Haven of Rest Ministries, in honor of Edna.
