AKRON, OHIO - Georgia M. Tobias (Lawrence), age 95, passed into her heavenly home on September 7, 2026. She was born on November 24, 1930, in Bowling Green, Kentucky to the late Francis and Louise Lawrence (Farmer). Georgia grew up in Akron, Ohio and later married the love of her life, Wendell Tobias. Together they had five children: Dianne, Mark, Suzanne, Ruth, and Laura, who all survive her. Georgia loved music, especially singing the hymns that she grew up with. She was a people person, always making you feel welcome and genuinely cared about. Georgia shared her faith without reservation and was a prayer warrior. She enjoyed playing games, even teaching some of her grandchildren to play Canasta.

Georgia’s family will be hosting a memorial service honoring her life on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 1:00PM, officiated by her son, Mark Tobias, at Eastwood Church of the Brethren, 581 Darrow Road, Akron, Ohio 44305. Friends may begin gathering at 12:00PM at the church. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Saturday between 11:00AM and 1:00PM. Memorial donations may be made to Eastwood Church of the Brethren or to The Chapel, Akron, Ohio, in honor of Georgia.
