MIDDLETOWN, OHIO – Brenda C. Allen, age 81, of Middletown, died peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at her home. Brenda was born on November 28, 1944, in Martin, Kentucky, to the late William and Ellen (Napier) Howard. Brenda was a 1962 graduate of Lemon-Monroe High School. She worked for Chic-Fil-A for 13 years as a manager and retired in 2006. In her free time, Brenda enjoyed sewing, quilting, jigsaw puzzles, fishing, and camping. She was a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church in Carlisle, Ohio. Brenda was an amazing mother, “Mamaw” and sister who will be remembered most for her strength, grace and resilience in life.

Brenda is survived by her children, Jackie Smallwood, Chad (Jennie) Slifer, Angie (Phillip) Richmond and Kelli (Joanna) Slifer; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; siblings, Jerry Howard and Linda Melton; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Slifer and Jerry Allen; 4 sisters, Pauline Warrens, Ruth Cooke, Shelby Johnson, and Christine Egelston; and 3 brothers, Charles, Willis and Dorse Howard.

A Visitation will be on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Temple Baptist Church, 229 Walnut Ave, Carlisle, Ohio 45005. A funeral service will follow at the church on Friday at 12:00 PM, officiated by Pastors Dan Sowards and Chad Slifer. Burial will take place at Fairmound Cemetery, West Elkton, Ohio.

Flowers may be delivered to the church on Friday between 9:00-11:00 AM. Memorial donations may be made to the church or to the Hospice of Middletown, in Brenda's honor.
