Herman Reed
1938 - 2026
WALNUT CREEK, OH – Dr. Herman Walter Reed, D.C., age 88, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away on August 2, 2026. Born on June 22, 1938, in Pitcairn, Pennsylvania, Herman was the son of the late Herman G. Reed and Elsie Mae (Pahal) Reed. He graduated from Pitcairn High School in 1957 and went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer Chiropractic College in 1965.
On July 28, 1962, Herman married the love of his life, Charlotte Ann Piskey. Together they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage and raised a loving family. Herman faithfully served the Middletown and Franklin communities as a chiropractor for 50 years before retiring in 2015.
On September 20, 1968, Herman accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, a decision that shaped the rest of his life. He was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher, a trustee and one of the original school board members of Middletown Christian Schools.
Herman will be remembered for his unique personality, quick wit, unwavering love for the Lord, and his lifelong passion for sharing the Gospel and leading others to Christ.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Charlotte; his sons, Dr. Adam (Rhonda) Reed and Dr. David (Bekki) Reed; his grandchildren, Samantha Ann (Devon) Childers and Benjamin David Reed; his cherished great grandchildren, Wesley Reed Childers and Evelyn Rose Childers; and his sister, Mary Ann (Reed) Kinnish.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 6355 Manchester Road #4338, Franklin, OH 45005. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Roger Green officiating. Interment immediately afterward at Grace Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklin, Ohio. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Friday between 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made, in Dr. Reed’s honor, to Caring Partners International or to the church.
